| ScheduleSeniors: Make your Senior Portrait appointment now by clicking here and entering School Code 87114. All undergraduates are invited to sit for yearbook portraits the week of Feb. 2, Monday - Friday, in Sarratt 112, located behind the Baseball Glove Lounge in Sarratt Student Center. It only takes a few minutes, and there is no cost to sit for your yearbook portrait. Seniors must make appointments (see details above). No appointment needed for non-seniors: Just stop by 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. OverviewEach year, the Commodore includes portraits of students from all undergraduate classes. Portraits are taken on campus, free of charge, by Herff Jones Photography. In addition to having a portrait included in Vanderbilt's oldest commemorative student record, proofs will be mailed courtesy of Herff Jones Photography with an option to purchase portrait sets in a variety of sizes. This is a valuable opportunity to take professional portraits with no sitting fee that may be used for Commencement mailings, activities related to employment search, or simply to commemorate this unique moment in life. AttireThere are no restrictions on dress for yearbook portraits. However, as portraits will be displayed as part of a commemorative university record, professional attire is suggested. Men traditionally wear a suit or sport coat and tie; women typically wear an attractive solid or multicolored blouse. Keep in mind that portraits capture the head and upper body only, and as such it is not uncommon to see students arrive in shorts or jeans if they are so inclined. Hats and sunglasses are strongly discouraged because they create shadows across the face. Helpful tips: “All students should make sure their hair and nails are neatly groomed. Flyaway hair, unmanageable ends, and wisps cannot be retouched – they can be fixed by airbrushing for an additional charge. It is suggested that men shave just before their sitting since we cannot remove five o’clock shadow.” Additional InformationQuestions regarding your portraits after they have been taken (regarding airbrushing, ordering additional prints, or the photos themselves) may be directed to Herff Jones Photography by visiting the company's website.
